Buddhism is becoming more and more popular in New York over the years. As there is no particular God in Buddhism and it repeatedly tells you to "analyze it yourself rather than believing in someone else" it attracts many intellectual New Yorkers.

I went to see the Silk Road Exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and I just could not leave this stunning Buddha head behind. I stood there for a long time, in tears, fantasizing that perhaps I was the one who created this breathtakingly beautiful creation back in the 5th century, Gandhara. I truly felt as I were standing in paradise!

ニューヨークの仏教ブームは強まるばかり。特定の
神が存在せず、我の力で分析せよと唱える仏教は、
インテリニューヨーカーたちにとってとても魅力的なのです。
今ちょうど開催中のメトロポリタン美術館での「シルクロード展」
に行って来ました。ガンダーラ／クシャーン時代の仏像に
目がない私にとっては楽園のような空間でした。もう感動の
涙、涙、、、！

This one is from the new exhibition at the Rubin Museum of Art. This exquisite Buddha statue made the time stop, and here I was in an eternal bliss. It made my scattered heart calm and brought some peace in my mind. The holiday season in NYC is chaotic. Yet, this Buddha gently reminded me that peace is always within :)

あるルービン美術館での新しい展示品です。
みつめていると、時間が止まり、なんとも言えない
心の落ち着きと幸せを感じました。慌ただしい
ホリデーシーズンのニューヨーク。心の平和は、実は
常に自分の心の中にあるということを、そっと優しく
思い出させてくれたブッダたちでした。

My book launch in New York! NYでの出版パーティ

So many fabulous New Yorker friends came to my book launch at the Rubin Museum of Art last night despite the awful rain. My god, do I love New York! I was so happy to have Richard (Gere) who has written a foreword for my book, "Save the Himalayas" come, too. My books were all sold out at the book launch, but now it is available online (such as Amazon) worldwide, so check it out! What a super wonderful night it was. I cannot thank you enough, my dear New Yorkers :)



昨夜のルービン美術館での出版記念パーティは、あいにくの大雨でしたが、沢山の方々がいらしてくださいました！そう、序文を寄せてくれたリチャード（ギア）も駆けつけてくれました。絵本も売り切れてしまいました。あ、でも今日からワールドワイドでオンライン購入可能になりましたので、海外にお住まいの皆さんも、アマゾンなどで見てみて下さいね！本当に最高の一夜となりました。昨夜来て下さった皆さん、本当にありがとうございました！

Back in New York City! NYに戻りました！

It is warmer than SoCal here in New York right now, and the red and yellow leaves in the Central Park are stunning gorgeous! I've missed the four seasons indeed, and this is wonderful to experience the beautiful autumn. I passed my favorite museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the way to my meeting at the Asia Society. I shall come back to check it out this weekend. Tonight is my big book launch event at the Rubin Museum of Art!

なんと南カリフォルニアより暖かいニューヨーク！大騒ぎして冬服ばかり
持ってきたのにい～。嬉しいけれどネ。セントラルパークの
紅葉は見事です。あ～四季ってやっぱり良いな。着いて
早速アジアソサエティ美術館とのミーティングのため、大好きな
メトロポリタン美術館を横目でちらちらみながら通り過ぎ
ました。今週末絶対に見に来るからね！今夜はルービン美術館
での出版記念パーティです。セレブも沢山来ます～！皆さん、
成功を祈っていてくださいネ！
