Burning Souls 燃える魂たち

 This is my original art from my book, "Wonder Talk," called, "Liberation." I have donated this piece to a charity auction, Art For Tibet to raise funds for SFT (Students for a Free Tibet), a global students organization that work for Tibet's freedom and human rights. This auction is hosted by Richard Gere and Robert Thurman (Uma's dad) at the Tibet House Museum in New York.

この絵は「ワンダートーク」という私の絵本の中の
原画「解放／Liberation」という作品です。この作品を
ニューヨークのチベットハウス美術館にて開催される
チャリティオークションに寄付しました。収益はすべて、
チベットの自由＆人権学生団体SFT（スチューデント・
フォー・ア・フリー・チベット）にあてられます。主催者は
リチャード・ギア、ロバート・サーマン（女優ウマのパパ）
たち。

This photo shows 84 young Tibetans who have self-immolated to death by today. They all have done so to ask for the world's support for their struggle. The nations leaders have repeatedly demanded China to improve their human rights, but nothing has been done. The minorities such as the Tibetans have been devastated. They have been captured for no reasons, tortured and killed in the prisons.

I've always thought for many years that it is possible for Japan to become like Tibet one day. As a matter of fact, Japan has already been under the Chinese rule in a way -don't you think?
For me, supporting Tibet means supporting my motherland, Japan.


この写真は、国際社会に助けを求め、焼身自殺をして行った
チベットの若者たち。今日で８４人を超えました。
いくら国際社会が人権問題の改善を中国政府に
訴えかけても、何も変わっていないのが現状です。
少数民族たちは、さらに追いやられ、悲惨な暮らし
を続けています。理由も無く捕らえられ、牢獄に行き、
拷問を受けたり、殺されたりしています。
私は以前から、いつか日本がチベットのように
なってしまってもおかしく無いと思って来ました。
事実、日本は知らぬ間に中国の支配下に置かれ
始めているのではありませんか？

私にとってチベット支援は、日本という祖国を支援
することに深く繋がっているんです。
