Dolphins in Paradise 楽園のイルカたち

This is my favorite beach in Socal - the Swami Beach in Encinitas, a beautiful and hip
beach town. It's known as a surfing mecca, too. I come here often on the weekends, and I
just cannot describe this place other than a gorgeous paradise.

As I was looking at the sparkling ocean I discovered a bunch of dolphins playing.
The surfers who were waiting for the waves also were watching the dolphins,
and I witnessed this perfect harmony of the nature and the human. I felt so happy.

Then I wished and prayed that this perfect harmony to spread towards all living
beings on this entire planet.

私が南カリフォルニアで一番好きな場所、スワミ・
ビーチ。エンシニタスというお洒落なビーチタウンに
あるサーフィンのメッカとしても知られています。
ここは楽園としか表現しようのない美しいところで、
私はよく週末に訪れます。きのうはキラキラ輝く
海を見つめていたら、沖の方でイルカの群れが楽し
そうに遊んでいるのを発見。そして、波を待ちながら
イルカを眺めているサーファーたちを見ていると、
なんとも言えないハーモニーを感じて、幸せな気持ちに
なりました。
イルカだけでなく、地球上で生きている動物たち、そして
人間がすべて仲良く共存、共生していければ良いのに
なあ、、と、心底願った瞬間でした。

Meditating at the Swami Beach

Now I am back in SoCal after a while, and the first place I want to go was the Swami Beach in Encinitas. As a beach bum I've seen so many beaches that are called the most beautiful beaches around the world, but this Swami Beach is definitely on the top of my list. It is not only just beautiful, but it has an unique ambiance there... some kind of a special aura. Also the Meditation Garden at the Ashram is exquisite. To meditate here is my favorite thing to do... it is certainly heavenly!

久々の南カリフォルニア。一番行きたくなるのはやっぱり
エンシニタスのスワミビーチ。ビーチバム（ビーチ大好き人間）
の私は世界中の最高と呼ばれるビーチを見てきたけれど、
このスワミビーチはダントツトップ。だた美しいだけでなく
なんとも言えない独特のオーラがあるのです。そして
この「瞑想のガーデン」。アシュラムの中にあるお庭は、まるで
天国のような美しさ。ここで瞑想をするのも楽しみのひとつ。
あ～極楽、極楽！

Dolphin Play イルカのお遊び

We go to the Swami Beach very often... almost every weekend. We love it there - it's just breathtakingly beautiful! The other day we saw a dolphin (wild, of course) in the sea! It was jumping up and down as swimming near the surfers. It was my first time ever to see a wild dolphin. I just love this place!

私たちはよくスワミビーチに行きます。最近は殆ど毎週末行ってるくらい。とにかく好きなんです、このビーチ。息を飲むほど美しい！先日は、イルカを見ました！（もちろん野生です）サーファーたちの近くをジャンプしながら泳いでいました。野生のイルカを見たのは、生まれて初めてです。ここ大好き！

Swami Beach & Love スワミビーチとラブ

The Swami Beach in Enchinitas is my favorite beach. It's not only known for the surfing, but it is just beautiful with the emerald green water. I always climb up the Swami Ashram on the hill to look down this gorgeous ocean and its surfers. This place makes you want to come back again and again..., and that is what I do.

エンシニタスにある有名なスワミビーチは私のお気に入り。サーファーのビーチとしてだけでなく、エメラルドグリーンの海でも知られています。私はいつも丘の上にあるスワミのアシュラムに行って、そこからこのゴージャスな海やサーファーたちを見下ろすのが大好き。ここはなぜかしら、何度も何度も来たくなってしまう場所。だから何度も戻って来てしまう私です。



At the sunset, there were so many surfers in the ocean. Young and old, men and women... everyone surfs here. As I was trying to photograph this amazing sunset, suddenly a man and a woman appeared in my lens like a romantic movie scene.

夕暮れには大勢のサーファーたちがサーフィンをしていました。若者もいれば年寄りも、男性も女性も、、。ここでは皆サーフィンをするんです。この素晴らしいサンセットを撮ろうとしていたら、急にある男女が登場。まるで映画のロマンティックシーンみたい。



Then, look what they did...! 　そして、こんなことしちゃった、、、！




These girls were such good surfers. I did not realize that they were female when I had watched them surf.

この女の子たちは上手なサーファーでした。ビーチから見ている時は、彼女たちが女性だということに気付かなかったくらいです。さすがカリフォルニア。




I am not a surfer, but this beach is a sanctuary for me. It always brings me a joy and makes me feel so at home. A magical place of love, indeed!

サーフィンをしない私にとっても、このビーチはサンクチュアリです。ここに来るとホッとして嬉しくなるのです。実に愛の魔法の場所ですね！
