Today, I'd like to thank you for visiting my blog and reading it every day. I have many visitors from around the world reading my blog, and it makes me very happy. What a world we live in... the modern technology (such as internet) brings us closer around the globe. Most of you and I have never met in person, yet, we are able to share our lives. How wonderful is that? I truly hope that the internet will bring more peace to the world, bringing more understanding between different counties, cultures and people... Winter Cacti 冬のカクタス

I am a little concerned about this tilted cactus. This is my neighbour's garden, and I pass it everyday to walk my dog. This particular one seems to want to go south while everyone else grows towards the sky. Obviously the house owner has put the string to hold it. There is always a black sheep or two everywhere...

このカクタスのことが気になっています。私のご近所さんのお庭のカクタスで、毎日犬の散歩で通るのですが、他は皆、空に向かって育っているのに、このカクタスだけはなぜか南へ行きたいみたい。見ての通り、このお家の方は紐をつけてカクタスが倒れないようにしていますネ。どこの場所にも「黒い羊」がいるものなんですねえ、、、。



This beautiful bird of paradise has a tenant, Mr. giant snail. I wonder how long it took him to get up there... since the bird of paradise can be very tall!

この綺麗な極楽鳥花には住人さんが。そう、大きなカタツムリさん。極楽鳥花は背が高いものも多いので、一体どれくらいの時間をかけて登ったのでしょうね、カタツムリさんは？



I am still not sure if I like this giant bird of paradise... This is in front of our building, and the tree is about 9 feet tall. The white flowers are the size of a human head (or bigger), and it looks beautiful, but quite grotesque. For some reason this tree seems to grow bigger in the winter time. I guess that cacti don't slow down in SoCal!

この巨大な極楽鳥花が好きかどうかまだ分からない私です。自宅の前にあるのですが、９フィートもあって、しかも花自体は人間の顔より大きい！美しいけどとてもグロテスクでもあります。そして、どういうわけか、冬にどんどん大きくなるようです。南カリフォルニアでは、カクタスもスローダウンしないのですねえ、、、！
