The New Year's Day in New York ニューヨークでお正月

 Happy New Year to you! Greetings from New York! May 2013 be healthy and full of wonderful events...!

On our New Year's Eve my husband and I had a full-course-dinner at my husband's favorite restaurant, Candle 79 on the Upper East Side. It is an organic vegan restaurant, and the dishes are innovative. After the tasty meal we stopped by at our friend, Michelle's apt. for a quick drink. Michelle and her family and friends do the New Year's Eve Marathon in Central Park every year, and they were getting so ready for another run that night with layers and layers of running gears.
The photo above is the colorful and fun sweets at Dean & DeLuca on Prince Street. How festive they are!

明けましておめでとうございます！ニューヨークから
ハッピー２０１３！！！今年もどうぞよろしくお願い致します。
そして、新年が皆さんにとって健康で素晴らしい一年と
なりますように。
大晦日は旦那さんと一緒にアッパーイーストにある「キャンドル
７９」という有名なオーガニックヴィーガンレストランでフルコース
ディナー。その後、友人ミシェルの家でのパーティにちょっと顔を
出しました。ミシェルは毎年、セントラルパークでの大晦日マラソン
に参加しているんです。沢山レイアーを着込んで張り切っていました！
あ、上の写真はプリンスストリートのDean & Delucaのスイーツ。
なんだかカラフルでフェスティヴでステキでしょう？

In the early morning of Jan.1 my husband left for California for work, so I went to have the New Year's Day brunch at Balthazar with a couple of friends who are my collectors. However, they could not come at the last minute (due to the flu), so I dined alone there. Of course I did not care that I was alone - the food is so lovely there! I had some brioche French Toasts and fabulous omelets.
Then, I walked around SoHo and NoLita for a while... until I got hungry again.
Francois Payard was my New Year Day destination! As I don't care so much about "Osechi" (the Japanese New Year Day cuisine) all I wanted was Payard's sweet pastries. This is how every New Year should start, indeed!

元旦は早朝に旦那さんが南カリフォルニアへ発ったので、
私は、私の作品のコレクター夫婦とバルタザールで
ニューイヤーブランチ。とのはずが、インフルエンザになって
来れないとのメールが！結局は独りで豪勢なブランチを
平らげて（ブリオーシュフレンチトーストとオムレツ！）、
その後はブラブラとソーホーやノリータをお散歩。そして
もちろん、新年は美味しいスイーツでスタートしないとネ！
フランソワ・パヤードに行って、ペイストリーを買い込んで
堪能しました～。お節料理は全く興味無い私にとっては
大満足でした！
