Sancruary サンクチュアリ

This piece I did back in 2006 is called, "Sanctuary." Animals, humans and nature are all living in
a beautiful harmony... that was my wish for peace.
これは２００６年の代表作のひとつ「サンクチュアリ」です。
豊かな大自然の中で人間、動物そして自然が共存・共生
し、愛に溢れる環境で生きたい、、。そんな平和への想い
から誕生した一枚です。

生まれたての豚の赤ちゃん。抱きしめたいくらい可愛いですね～！
However, there is so much cruelty and abuse going on at the meat industries in the world. Cows, pigs and chickens are kept in the dark metal cages, and they cannot even turn around. The newborns never leave the cage, and they are sent to the slaughter houses before they are six months old. The animals never see the Sun light once.

1.5 acres of rainforest are destroyed every second for cattle farming. As the world has changed so much already do we, humans, really have to eat meat, I wonder. Many years ago the Japanese never ate meat. I hear that in those days there were not many diseases, and life was simple and peaceful.


でも、今の世の中の食肉産業工場では、悲惨な状況が
続いています。牛、豚、鶏たちは、暗い檻の中に閉じ込め
られ、身動きもできません。子供も檻で生まれ半年以内
に精肉工場へと運ばれます。動物達は一生に一度も太陽
の光を見ることが無いのです。

今、１、５エーカーの熱帯雨林が畜牛産業のために、
毎秒ごとに破壊されています。これだけ地球が破壊されて
しまった今日、そこまでして人類は肉を食べないとならない
のかなあ、、と、ふと考えてしまうこの頃です。
かつて、日本人は肉を食べなかった。当時は病も少なく
人々の暮らしはシンプルで平和だったと聞きます。
