Good Old Pepsi ペプシコーラ

This icon, the old Pepsi sign is probably more known among the Manhattanites than the Queens' residents. I hear that this sign is from the 1930's when the steam boats used to go up and down on the East River transporting sugar canes from South America. I like Pepsi more than Coke, and I just love this view from the park in front of my apartment. How refreshing to look at it!

この巨大なペプシコーラのサインは、クイーンズ地区の人たちよりも、川を超えたクイーンズが見えるマンハッタンの住人の間で親しみ愛されています。イーストリバー沿いにそびえ立つこのサインは、１９３６年頃からあると聞いています。当時、このイーストリバーでは、蒸気船が南アメリカから砂糖などを運んでいたそうです。私はコークよりペプシが好き。この自宅のアパートの前の公園から見えるペプシサインが大好きです。眺めるだけでリフレッシュ！
