The Barber of Seville

We went to see Rossini's masterpiece, "The Barber of Seville" yesterday. Not only as an opera lover who enjoys this songs, but as an artist who loves Magritte the stage set was superb because it was all designed based on his art!  The floating white clouds, the red chairs and his signature black hat... It was magnificent!

When I was growing up in New York my father was a patron at the Metropolitan Opera, so during the opera season we used to go to the opera every week. As a teenager who craved for rock the three-hour-opera was rather a torture. Later on, for an adult who discovered the beauty of opera the Met tickets were too hard to get, and I could only go once in a while. What an irony.
My husband became an opera fan when he met me, and he was able to get us really good seats (the fourth row from the stage)this time! He was so excited about it until we got there, but he slept through the most of it. lol
