Keeping the loved ones 愛おしい人を胸に

                                                                                                                                                                                       

How romantic and sweet are those pendants are! They had their lovers' portraits painted by artists, and this is how people used to keep their lovers at their hearts in the 17~18th century in Europe. (I'm sure it was done so much earlier than that.) There were many beautiful men and women's portraits pendants at the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena.


なんてロマンティックでスウイートなペンダントでしょう！
こうして１８世紀のヨーロッパの恋人たちは、愛する人
の絵を描いてもらい、いつも身につけていたんですネ。
これはパセディナのノートン・サイモン美術館のコレクション。
美男、美女のペンダントがいっぱいでした！







These are from the new permanent Islam Section at
the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. There was a
stunning collection of the exquisite arts from Iran, Turkey 
and more. These are again the pendants of a loving couple
and a lover. How charming are they! I was moved by those
intricately painted portraits for lovers... especially in today's
world where anyone can take any photos instantly and send
them to anywhere in the world in a second...!

昨年できた新しい「イスラム」コレクションです。
イランやトルコなどの素晴らしい美術品がずら～り！
そして、またもやチャーミングなペンダント。
愛し合う夫婦、そして恋人の絵なのでしょうね。
どこでもすぐに撮った写真を一瞬にして世界中の
どこへでも送れる今の時代、このように丁寧に
描かれた愛する人たちのペンダントに、深く感動
した私でした。
