Spago at last... とうとうスパーゴに

For how many years have I known these names? Spago, Chinois, Chaya... During the late 80's those names had brought a new breeze of the California cuisine. Well, I visited LA for the first time ever in my life. Thomas, an old friend from my high school in New York took me to Spago for lunch. My choice was this beets & goat cheese layered salad, and it was beautiful to look at and delicious!


I met Wolfgang Puck in the late 80's in New York with my celebrity chef friend Mark Miller at a party. Surprisingly he was at Spago cooking and greeting people. We chatted a little bit, and I could not believe the fact that he looked exactly the same as 20 years ago. Actually he looked even younger!
