Jyoti bihanga ジョティビハンガ

Jyoti Bihanga is my favorite vegetarian restaurant in San Diego. It is a part of the ashram of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian spiritual teacher who passed away in 2007. I do not know much about him at all except that I have seen his face and have heard of his name before. I have a feeling that he was a good man... just because the restaurant has such good aura and its staffs (disciples in sari) look so happy and blissful... or because the food is simply good...!

ジョティビハンガはサンディエゴで一番お気に入りのベジタリアンレストランです。２００７年にこの世を去ったスリチンモイというインドのスピリチュアルグルーのアシュラムの一角にあります。私はこのグルーの顔や名前は知ってましたが、彼のことをあまりよく知りません。でも、なんとなく良い人だったのではないかなあ〜と感じています。だって、このレストラン、あまりにもオーラが良いし、働くスタッフ（皆アシュラムの修行者たちでサリーを身にまとっています）があまりにも幸せそうなのですから！



The salad is so fresh and comes with a very tasty dressing.

サラダはとてもフレッシュでテイスティーなドレッシングがついて来ます。



"Neatloaf," they call this signature dish of the restaurant. It's made of brown rice, grains, ricotta cheese and tofu. It is so good, but so rich that it knocked me out to sleep!

これが「ニートローフ」と呼ばれるレストランのシグネチャーディッシュ。玄米、グレイン、リコッタチーズとトーフで作られていて、とっても美味しいのですが、リッチなのですぐに眠たくなる一品。




Yummm. The chocolate moose cake. Oh, and the chai. They make an authentic chai with some serious spice in it.

おお〜そしてチョコレートケーキ。ああ、そしてチャイ。ここのチャイは本場の味でちゃんとスパイス効いてます。



The restaurant's walls are filled with lovely paintings by Sri Chinmoy. Appearently he was an artist, too. There is a small shop corner at the restaurant that you can buy his books and hand bags like this pretty pink ones. He painted with vivid colors. I like that. I cannot wait to go there again soon. Perhaps the next time I will pick up his book and see what he had to say.

店内にはスリチンモイが描いたラブリーなペインティングが沢山飾られています。彼はどうやら画家でもあったようですね。レストランには小さなショップコーナーがあって、彼の本やピンクが可愛いハンドバッグが売られています。彼はヴィヴィッドな色を好んだようですね。ステキ！早くまたこのレストランに行きたいです。次回は彼の本でも読んでみようかな。
