Working hard!

During my daily walk I noticed the incredibly sparkling Sun light that was reflecting on the trees. As I was adoring it something even more sparkling came into my eyes. A giant spider web, that was! I had never seen such a large spider web before in my life. How long would it take to make this big web..., I wondered. It is not only the humans who work hard to live... Thanks to the sweet reminder that all sentient beings are working hard every day :)

Meditating at the Swami Beach

Now I am back in SoCal after a while, and the first place I want to go was the Swami Beach in Encinitas. As a beach bum I've seen so many beaches that are called the most beautiful beaches around the world, but this Swami Beach is definitely on the top of my list. It is not only just beautiful, but it has an unique ambiance there... some kind of a special aura. Also the Meditation Garden at the Ashram is exquisite. To meditate here is my favorite thing to do... it is certainly heavenly!

Thanksgiving at the Laguna Beach

Thanksgiving Day is to give thanks to what you have in life. It has become a holiday to get together with families and friends... and lots of eating and shopping! I spent some time with my husband's family at the Laguna Montage. The X'mas tree at the hotel was lovely, yet, it was such "SoCal style" that it did not look like a typical Christmas tree to me ;p

Talking at Hewitt, NYC

I was invited to give a talk on my new book, "Save the Himalayas" at Hewitt School in New York. It is a private girls prep school on Upper East Side, and the children were just delightful! I did two sessions, the first with the 2nd grade to the 4th grade, then the kinder gardeners (nearly 300 total all together), and talked about the Himalayan animals such as snow leopards and yaks. Their sparkling eyes and lovely smiles made my day! Thank you, Hewitt, for having me, and I hope that the girls will be doing something good for the environment one day!

My book launch in New York! NY

So many fabulous New Yorker friends came to my book launch at the Rubin Museum of Art last night despite the awful rain. My god, do I love New York! I was so happy to have Richard (Gere) who has written a foreword for my book, "Save the Himalayas" come, too. My books were all sold out at the book launch, but now it is available online (such as Amazon) worldwide, so check it out! What a super wonderful night it was. I cannot thank you enough, my dear New Yorkers :)

It is warmer than SoCal here in New York right now, and the red and yellow leaves in the Central Park are stunning gorgeous! Autumn is here in SoCal

Autumn has come to SoCal again. I've noticed this strange sound at home, and have realized that it's the sound of the dead palm leaves outside. They are about to fall into the ground. When they fall on the ground they look like this photo above. So when I walk my pug, Chai I try to be extra careful to make sure that they don't fall on us! However, even in autumn the dead palm leaves are lucky enough to fall onto those lovely flowers, and that is SoCal!

My pug seems to love the beautiful fallen leaves. I took him to the Balboa Park, and he was
running around so happily on those red & yellow leaves. Perhaps it reminds him of the gorgeous Autumn Central Park where he went when he was one year old. I am off to New York now - my home, sweet home :)
