Leaving the magical Monument Valley behind we headed south, and stopped at Flagstaff. It's a cute little college town with lots of lovely shops and restaurants. We walked around while sipping coffee, and went into every store - after spending several days in the desert this town felt like a modern civilization to us!
マジカルなモニュメントヴァレーを後にして、私たちは西へと向かい、フラッグスタッフで休憩しました。この可愛い学生街には、ラブリーなお店やレストランが立ち並んでいます。私たちはコーヒーを飲みながら全てのお店に入りました。何日も砂漠にいたので、この小さな街が近代文明に感じたのでしょう！
While strolling the street I found this shop that sells only caramel apples. This sweet that I don't particularly like always reminds me of a sweet memory of my childhood American friend, Sandy in Japan who introduced me to this. Tomorrow we are off to Phoenix. It will be hot, hot, hot!

これを見るといつも子供時代のアメリカ人のお友達で、私にこのお菓子を紹介してくれたサンディを思い出すのでした。明日はフィーニックスへ発ちます。暑いですよ〜！
